Acadiana Physical Therapy offers post-op patients a safe,
effective way to get back to the activites you love to do.
Phases of Rehabilitation
Initial treatment phases will focus on restoring full range of motion and general strength. Your therapist may use Functional Electrical Stimulation or Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) protocols to help boost your phisiologic response to exercise to expedite your progress in this phase.
Modalities including Light Force Laser®, electrical stimulation, cryotherapy, heat, traction and Gameready (compression combined with cryotherapy) as used as needed to reduce swelling and pain and allow you to start moving sooner.
The next phase includes integration of functional movement patterns into your rehab program. Your physical therapist will work with you closely to ensure that you are using proper movement strategies and techniques to prevent compensations and to learn to move efficiently and safely.
This final phase includes sports or activity specific exercises, agility, and balance training that will seamlessly allow you to return to your previous sports and activities safely and with full confidence.
